Single-family home, stocktaking (BE)

The renovation of the energy systems of an old single-family home required a constructional stocktaking as no planning documents were available, rendering a digital site measurement of the property absolutely necessary. The task was to fabricate footprints, cuts and facade views as a basis for a planning document, in a cost-effective manner and on short notice. For these reasons, 3D laser scanning was decided on as the means of measurement.


Multi-family house, stocktaking and plan development (LU)

The renovation of an old multi-family house required a constructional stocktaking as there were no planning documents available, rendering a digital site measurement of the property absolutely necessary. The task was to fabricate footprints, cuts and façade views as a basis for a planning document, in a cost-effective manner and on short notice. For these reasons 3D laser scanning was decided on as the means of measurement. Subsequently, we evaluated the point cloud in AutoCad.


Saas Fee Mittelallalin, 3500 meters above sea level, stocktaking (VS)

3D laser measurement at its best. We paid particular attention to the situation of the rock surface on the north-east side of the terrace. The Company Tschannen Metallbautechnik AG has plans to construct another flight of stairs as an escape route there. The challenge in this construction lies in the fact that the stairs are supposed to surround the rock surface but not touch it. It is evident that such works of construction can only be conducted in 3D and with a precise point cloud.


Feldpausch, stocktaking (ZH)

This object required us to perform three tasks which we were able to measure with 3D laser scanning in just one day. The tasks consisted of the measurement of a four-storied spiral staircase, an eight-storied high escape staircase and the metal construction of the façade reaching from the ground floor to the upper floor. These tasks could only be accomplished with 3D laser scanning and several 3D scanners.

During renovations, the company responsible for the construction of the staircase needed to measure a five-storied multi-family house in order to be able to work on the renewal of the staircase. We were given the opportunity to demonstrate the possibilities of 3D laser measurement on this object.

In consequence of  the renewal of their website, the foundation board of Hünegg Castle was looking for an appealing, forward-looking presentation. The dapgroup were able to convince the foundation board of the opportunities of 3D laser scanning and its evaluation possibilities. The point cloud, a data model generated from a 3D scan, facilitates a large number of different evaluations with great benefits, not only for the documentation of construction, but also for marketing purposes. Colourful, interactive photo panoramas and visualisations present the Hünegg Castle in a way that no visitor has seen before.

We could have measured everything in 3D in 48 minutes and generated footprints, cuts and views within 3 hours.

We took this typical case to prove how 3D laser measurement will revolutionize stocktaking in pylons and network construction. We generated a 3D model of the existing situation and were able to clearly determine the position of the pylon, the sagging of the  wires, the material and running meters after the evaluation of the footprints, cuts and views.

It is an incredible advantage for any real estate agency to be able to create a 360° panoramic photo from every scanning location, in which one can move around online. It’s the same in this case.


Industry steel construction, stocktaking and plan development (BE)

During a phase of production expansion, the entire steel construction was recorded with 3D laser scanning. With the 3D laser scanner, the whole inventory could be measured safely and quickly. Within 1.5 hours the 180 meter long hall was measured in 3D and was further evaluated with the scanning software within 2 hours.


Industry facilities, stocktaking

A measurement of the production facility became necessary during a phase of process optimization of production in order to create a planning foundation. In this case the structural conditions, the positioning of machines and their supply systems were of interest. With the help of  3D laser scanning as a modern means of measurement, a fast and cost-effective measurement could be achieved. The data of the point cloud relevant for the planner was then extracted from the complete coverage of the 3D laser scan and transferred to a CAD.


Reconstruction of an industral machine, stocktaking

For the reconstruction of a machine, a completely new pipework construction was necessary. In order to fit the complex pipeline route into the construction, a point cloud was chosen. With the 3D laser scanner, the whole inventory could be measured safely and quickly.
